Abstract
The project "Textures from painting to the digital image" investigates the influence of textures on the design of the digital image. Every camera, every picture creates its own texture through the process of its production; it is not an effect superimposed on the picture. Textures are inner, outwardly visible structural elements of the digital image, and they can be altered, as this project demonstrates by the discovery of textures in painting and through film clips. Textures will become a new and sensitive design element in digital cinematography.
